ABOUT Jack ROWAN
Since graduating from BIMM with a BA Hons in Professional Musicianship, Jack has been building his own platform within the music industry, performing around the country in several original bands including Brighton’s own ‘From Afar’ and most recently a session guitarist / songwriter for Kenelis. With a unique approach to songwriting Jack specialises in the more alternative end of guitar playing, especially music in the genres of alt-rock / post-hardcore / technical-metal and math-rock. As a pro session guitarist Jack has had to develop his all round playing to cater for the particular artist or session, so he is just as comfortable sitting on a funk groove as he is jamming the blues and shredding some riffs! Jack is a very talented, hard working guitar player that has carved his own niche in the music industry.
As a guitar tutor Jack has years of experience in private tutoring, working with a range of abilities and styles. His primary focus has always been to help budding guitarists find their own unique voice through playing their instrument using a range of tools from music theory to developing a good ear, as well as basic home demo production skills. working with Your Guitar Academy Brighton Jack is able to successfully combine his own unique teaching approach with the in depth course structure bringing about amazing results in all his students. He brings an energy and excitement to all his lessons that keeps his students excited and motivated to continue learning and improving on the instrument.
Jacks home studio is located on Tisbury Road, very near Grand Avenue in Hove. This is a great central Hove location which is walking distance from Hove station, very close to pretty much all major bus routes and there is parking available in the area (pay and display).
The studio is equipped with Orange and Marshall amps, electric and acoustic guitars, monitors and recording interface, as well as digital amp modelling software and Logic Pro Studio X. Jack is able to create demo’s and backing tracks from scratch, using digital amp modelling for bass/guitar and drum programming, catering to the students individual needs.
