WHAT’S INVOLVED IN THE LESSON
This is such a cool song from a very influential songwriter, and his guitar skills are nothing to be shy about either! This lesson takes you through the opening parts of this song, showing you how to approach the fiddly little ‘licks’ Neil Young plays in between the open chords. The main focus of the lesson is trying to show you how to play those licks and continue the rhythm sound so that the overall rhythmical affect doesn’t suffer. This can be very hard to do, so make sure you have a bit of time to sit there and practice!
I would pin this down to a high beginner, low intermediate level. In order to tackle the song you will need to know your open chord shapes very well, and have a bit of experience playing scales or single note lines. If you’ve ever tried any Jonny Cash stuff , then you should be well on your way to getting this song together!
